Getting a bit colder...
This is where Layering comes in handy! There's some nuance depending on how hard you're riding if there are climbs (warmer) followed by decent (colder!), the humidity, if you run warm or cold. BUT our products work well at managing heat/moisture. Let's dive in:
Tops:
Start with your Base Layer. We like Merino when it gets chilly.
Over that, your Thermal Jersey of choice. We have many options that can be layered with jackets to dial in the temp perfectly. (see the note about subtracting 10 degrees with a jacket).
From there, add your next layer
Vests allow you to keep your arms out and we have two to choose from. The Micro Climate Vest is a riding-specific vest with three pockets that breathes well and works in a wide temp range. The Daily Alpha Vest is going to be a more casual and/or warmer option.Jackets will help you reach down into the lower temperatures. If it's dry and you're getting variable temperatures and want to pack it down, the Micro Climate Jacket is the way to go. If there is rain or moisture in the air, choose the Magic Shell. Built around waterproof Polartech Neoshell fabric our jacket is stretchy and ALSO breathes. It's too good to be true, ornot.
Bottoms: Enter the Cargo Thermal Bib Tights. Fleecy, flexible, and pockets. This brushed fabric has a light DWR coating to keep off light rain, and full coverage to keep you warm as the temperatures drop. The upper range on these tights is impressive as well. If the temperature is going to climb throughout the ride, you could also wear Cargo Bib Shorts and Stretch Knit Leg Warmers for a bit more breathability.
Accessories can make all the difference here. Top your head with a Decadent Winter Cap or Grid Thermal Beanie and cover your hands with some gloves and you'll be ready to go.
OH! Don't forget your Merino Socks...
